With Generation G, Rutgers leads a continuation of the current Prevention+ partnership, which strives to create gender-just and violence-free societies. To achieve an equitable world for all individuals, regardless of their gender, the partnership will equip youth leaders and civil society organisations to address the root causes of gender inequality. Generation G is a collaboration between Rutgers, Abaad, Promundo and Sonke Gender Justice.
Right Here Right Now II (RHRN2)
RHRN2 builds on the experiences of the strategic partnership Right Here Right Now that is led by youth SRHR advocates in 11 regions, and across three continents. In its new form the objective will ensure young people, in all their diversity, enjoy their SRHR in gender-just societies. In addition to Rutgers, this new partnership consists of AMPF, ARROW, Bandhu, CHOICE, RHU, and RNW Media.
Power to You(th)
Amref leads the Power to You(th) consortium, which targets harmful practices, such as FGM and child marriages. The programme will strengthen the capacity of civil society organisations, especially those at the grassroots level, to effectively lobby and advocate for inclusive decision-making. Power to You(th) will also help amplify the voices of adolescent girls and young women, empowering them to increase their agency, claim their rights and address gender inequalities and gender norms. In addition to Amref and Rutgers, Sonke Gender Justice will be part of this partnership.
Improved SRHR and Gender Justice across the world
“This decision creates a great opportunity for Rutgers to keep on working with the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs in our joint leading and vital role in improving the SRHR of young people and achieving gender justice across the world”, says Ton Coenen, Executive Director of Rutgers. “We look forward to working closely with our partners in implementing these ambitious programmes and realising our joint vision of a gender-just world.”
