Hello I Am (HIA) program to stop child marriage launched

On July 17th, PSTC in cooperation with the othe Hello I Am partners succesfuly launched the programme during a festive event in Dhaka. The Hello, I Am programme is enabling young people in Bangladesh to break harmful social norms and have more say in decisions about their futures.

Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu, special guest at the event, inaugurated the programme. He called upon the development workers to design practical campaigns and teach the boys and girls in schools and colleges not to get married at adolescent age: ‘Being a conservative society, we do not discuss growing up and sexuality issues,’ the minister said pointing at the need for increasing awareness about rights to sexual activities which he said was also a part of human rights.'
