This guide is developed by Rutgers and Stop Aids Now! and is part of the Quality of SRHR and HIV prevention programme. In this programme we aim to support civil society organisations (CSOs) working on HIV prevention interventions and Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) education for young people in 12 African countries.
In the context of the programme, a pool of trainers have been trained in 12 countries to become experts on quality criteria of SRHR education and HIV prevention programmes for young people. You can contact our trained and experienced trainers if you would like to improve the quality of programmes for young people of your own organisation.
This guide provides exercises and activities you can do with staff of CSOs in order to strengthen current SRHR education and programmes or HIV prevention activities for youth.
We focus on:
- health promotion and behaviour change, using the Planning and Support Tool
- sexual and reproductive health and rights, youth participation, gender awareness, stigma and discrimination and measuring effects on outcome level, using the tool ‘Are you on the right track?’
