Two new partners for Centres of Excellence to help spread expertise about delivery and scale-up of youth centred programming

The Centres of Excellence programme is happy for Colombia-based Profamilia and the Planned Parenthood Association of Ghana (PPAG) to strengthen the reach of this programme in Latin America, the Caribbean and Anglophone-Africa. They will join Rutgers and Togo based Association Togolaise pour le Bien-Etre Familial (ATBEF) in the facilitation of South-South knowledge exchange and the dissemination of best practices, tools and the latest standards for comprehensive sexuality education, youth‑friendly services and the youth‑centred approach.

Reaching more youth through quality implementation

The Centres of Excellence programme by Global Affairs Canada (GAC) and International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF), was launched in 2019 to support the establishment of Centres of Excellence (CoE) in youth centred programming and comprehensive sexuality education (CSE). The programme provides support for the CoE's to become the go-to-place for others that want to learn about the latest developments and best practices in implementing and scaling up youth centred programming.

Marta Royo, Executive Director of Profamilia: “We are very excited to be part of this global commitment to social transformation. With the Centers of Excellence we will exchange knowledge, identify good practices, initiate dialogue and provide collective learning.”

Abena Adubea Amoah; Eexecutive Director of PPAG: "Through the Center of Excellence programme, PPAG promises to be a catalyst for the advancement of SRHR for young people in Africa."
