Youth Encouragement Project - Resources

The Youth Encourage Project (YEP) in Uganda ran from 2014-2016 and its follow-up in Nambaale entailed a smaller version of the model, intended to sustain achieved results from the first phase.

To grasp the sustainability of the outreach model to maintain sexual and reproductive health service uptake of young people, Rutgers and RHU conducted an operational research in February 2019 to determine the sustainability of the activities, effects and possible continuation of the model. Qualitative interviews took place with project and management staff from RHU both in Kampala (three people) and Iganga (three people including one health worker), with the assistant DHO and bio-statistician in Iganga, with a total of ten health workers from the four health facilities, and focus group discussions took place with twelve peer educators (three per health facility), totalling to 30 people being interviewed.
